Why did i not burn my hand over a lighter flame?

a few weeks ago my friend asked me to play a game seeing who could hold their hand directly over the flame of a cigerette lighter for the longest (about 1.5cm above the flame). she was shocked to see that i could keep mine there endlessly (it was barely even warm) because it burnt everyone else in a quick second. I didnt think much of it and just thought i was tough haha.. i tried to do it again now and it buuuurns very quickly.. what do you rekon happened that i didnt feel it the first time?? I was out side so maybe the wind blew the heat away? :S or do lighters ever give of cold flames? :S or do you think it could have possibly been a spiritual thing coz i had been being super righteous that night lol.. Lemme know!
